The first-ever Big Fresno Fair Virtual Livestock Sale kicks-off tomorrow Friday, October 9 at 11 a.m. and goes until Monday, October 12 at 11:59 p.m. The Virtual Livestock sale will feature nearly 500 animals from dedicated and hard-working 4-H and FFA members throughout Fresno County.
Leading up to the sale, we’ll be featuring 4-H & FFA exhibitors from participating chapters to highlight their animal project and all their hard work, while also giving buyers and our community a glimpse of animals they can bid on!
Meet Harley McCorkle, a Sierra 4-H student who is an 8th grader at Sierra Junior High. Here’s what Harley’s 4-H advisor had to say about her:
“Harley has been active in Sierra 4-H Club since beginning as a Primary 4-H member when she was 5 years old. Over the years, she has held just about every office in Sierra 4-H Club from President to Reporter. She has been the Teen Leader for the Sheep Project for 4 years. Harley has been instrumental in planning and presenting information at the monthly Sheep Project meetings. She has also been very helpful in training younger members in Sheep Showmanship and in helping to prepare lambs for the show ring. In addition to all the leadership activities that Harley has been involved in, she also raises a small flock of sheep and is very active in sports at Sierra High School. Harley McCorkle is a great example of a “Hardworking Kid.”
Help out these hard-working students in the community! Participate in the sale as a buyer or place an add-on bid! Every bit helps out these kids who’ve been working all year to get to where they are now. For more information about the Virtual Livestock Auction and how you can participate, click here.
