Meet Sofia Guizar, a Tranquility FFA exhibitor from Tranquiliity High School!

 

“I joined FFA because I wanted to be involved in agriculture and challenge myself to grow. Over the years, it’s become so much more than just raising livestock. FFA has taught me responsibility, hard work, and confidence, while giving me opportunities and memories that have shaped who I am today.

This year, I am raising a market steer. Every day I dedicate time to feeding, exercising, grooming, and monitoring its health to help it reach its full potential. Raising a market steer has taught me patience, consistency, and the importance of caring for an animal every single day. It’s been a rewarding experience that has strengthened my work ethic and responsibility.”

It’s almost here! The 15th Annual Big Fresno Fair Job Fair is TOMORROW, August 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Commerce Building at the Fresno Fairgrounds!

 

We’re hiring for the 2026 Fair and looking for friendly, reliable people to join the team! Open positions include:

• Ticket Scanners
• Parking Attendants
• Customer Service Representatives
• Janitorial & Maintenance Staff
• Grandstand Entertainment Staff

Livestock Exhibitor Feature – Maria Gomez of Tranquility FFA

Meet one of the dedicated exhibitors working toward this year’s Jr. Livestock Auction 🐖🐄🐑

 

Maria Gomez, a Tranquility FFA senior at Tranquility High School, is putting in the time and dedication as they prepare for this year’s auction. Here’s her story:

 

“I joined FFA because I heard it would help me become more confident with my public speaking skills and help me grow as a person. I also wanted to challenge myself by competing in CDE’s. FFA has taught me many valuable skills over the years and has helped me become more responsible by raising an animal.

 

My project for this year’s Fair is a market steer. The name I chose for my steer is Manolo. Manolo is a very loving steer and he loves getting pets. Every day I feed, brush, and make sure he has water. My project has taught me how to be more patient especially when walking him. This is my last project for the Fair while I’m still in high school and he has become one of my favorites so far. I have enjoyed my time with him and I’m hoping he does very good at the Fair.”

We are just 52 days until the 2026 Big Fresno Fair, which means our Box Office is officially open to the public! Purchase your concert, grandstand, admission, season passes and unlimited carnival ride wristband tickets in-person at our Box Office located at 1121 S. Chance Ave. Hours are Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Cash and card accepted (credit card fees apply).

Everything You Need to Know About The Big Fresno Fair’s 2026 Beer & Wine Fest!

Sip, savor and celebrate! The Big Fresno Fair’s 11th annual Beer & Wine Fest returns on Saturday, October 17 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.!

 

Enjoy unlimited tastings from 20+ breweries and wineries inside the Infield Party Tent, plus live music, lawn games and delicious eats from local food trucks. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon at the Fair! Plus! Don’t forget to check out the second annual Big Fresno Fair Car Show happening in the Brian I. Tatarian Grandstand!

 

Tickets are $35 and include Fair admission. Designated driver tickets are available for $20. Guests must be 21+ to attend.

Months of dedication, care and hard work go into every project 🐖🐄🐑 Our 4-H and FFA exhibitors are already preparing for the Jr. Livestock Auction this October at The Big Fresno Fair!

 

Meet Brooklyn Goad, a Riverdale FFA exhibitor who is a sophomore at Riverdale High School:

 

“I got involved in FFA because I wanted to learn more about agriculture, develop leadership skills, and challenge myself through raising livestock. FFA has given me opportunities to grow in responsibility, confidence, and communication while meeting people who share the same passions. This program is important to me because it has helped me become a better leader, taught me the value of hard work and dedication, and is helping me work toward my goal of becoming a livestock veterinarian.

 

This year I raised and will be showing my market steer. Caring for him every day taught me responsibility, patience, and the value of hard work. It has been a rewarding experience, and I’m proud of how far we’ve come together, I am ready to show off all are hard work at the Fair.”
