The Big Fresno Fair Announces 2021 Board Officer Positions

The Big Fresno Fair proudly welcomes new Board Members, Gary Chahil, Frank Flores, Terry Gonsalves and Annalisa Perea to the 21st District Agricultural Association (DAA) Board of Directors. They were appointed in September 2020 by California Governor Gavin Newsom.

 

Additionally, the Board voted on the 2021 officer positions which are: Jerry Pacheco, Board President; Charles Riojas, Vice President; and Terry Gonsalves, Secretary/Treasurer.

 

“We are excited to have our new Fair Board members involved in the conversations about the future for our Fair, our operations and new ways to look at how we approach things amid the challenges of COVID-19,” said Stacy Rianda, Deputy Manager II of The Big Fresno Fair. “Each new Board member brings a new network with new opportunities and a fresh perspective to the Fair. With these Board additions and our new officers, we look forward to the future and the continued operations of our Fairgrounds and Fair in a safe and healthy way for our community to enjoy.”

Check Out Valley PBS’s “American Grown: My Job Depends on Ag

The Big Fresno Fair was featured in last week’s episode of Valley PBS’s “American Grown: My Job Depends on Ag”. The episode features one of our very own Deputy Managers, Lauri King and a few of the hard-working 4-H and FFA students who showcased their animal projects at the 2020 Big Fresno Fair’s Livestock Auction and Show!

 

Agriculture is the foundation backbone of our Fair and our community. Our Fair and others throughout California and the nation provide a platform for our 4-H and FFA youth to connect with one another, share their agriculture knowledge with the community, develop their marketing and public speaking skills and continue to grow as leaders in our community.

Throwback Thursday Concert Spotlight | The Rembrandts – 1995

We’ll be there for you…just like The Rembrandts were there for us to perform at the 1995 Big Fresno Fair! The Rembrandts are widely known for their no.1 song “I’ll Be There for You” which became the theme song for the popular TV sitcom, F▪R▪I▪E▪N▪D▪S. Most recently, the band released their latest album “Via Satellite,” which is their first studio album in 18 years!

Satellite Wagering at the Fresno Fairgrounds is Back Open for Business!

Our Satellite Wagering facility, The Starting Gate, is back open for business on the first floor of the Brian I. Tatarian Grandstand for betting!

 

A few things to know before heading to The Starting Gate:

  • Price is $6 for entry.
  • 58-person capacity; 1 guest per table ONLY!
  • Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed.
  • Face coverings are required.
  • All patrons must follow health and safety guidelines or risk ejection.

Administration Office Closed in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Fair’s Administration Office will be closed Friday, January 15 – Monday, January 18 and will reopen Tuesday, January 19.

The Central California Blood Center is in Dire Need of Blood and Plasma

The Valley needs your help! With only less than a one-day supply of Type O blood, the Central California Blood Center needs healthy donors of all blood types to come donate blood to help save lives in our community. Donations can be made in a safe way, following all COVID-19 precautions. In addition to blood, the Blood Center is also in need of plasma from those who have recovered from COVID.

Today Is the Last Day of a Holiday Fantasy of Lights Show Presented by Valley Children’s Healthcare and Outfront Media!

It’s the last day of The Big Fresno Fair’s Holiday Fantasy of Lights Show presented by Valley Children’s Healthcare and Outfront Media! Don’t miss your chance to drive through the Fairgrounds one last time to enjoy the 450-holiday light displays, Fair food, hot cocoa and more! Hours are 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Ticket prices are $25 in advance or $30 at the gate. Please note, sales are CASH ONLY at the gate.
