See if you recognize any of the foods like the Flamin’ Hot Chimichanga from Chicken Charlies or the Rainbow Shrimp Fries from Sharky’s Fish Fry! There’s more where that came from, but we don’t want to spoil the episode for you, just tune in for yourself!

Two separate episodes will air on Sunday, June 7 and June 21 at 9 p.m. on the Cooking Channel. The titles of each episode are “The Fryin’ King” and “The Kings Peach.” Set your DVR’s because you won’t want to miss your hometown Fair on national television!

Congratulations to Bill & Carol Chandler who were selected by the California State Fair Board of Directors as its Agriculturalists of the Year! Carol has previously served as part of The Big Fresno Fair’s Board of Directors from 1992 – 1995. During her time on the board, Carol helped launch the popular Fair Education Program, which allows Fresno County public, private and home schooled kindergarten through eighth grade students to visit the Fair FREE of charge in an educational setting. Since the start of the program 27 years ago, more than 508,000 Fresno County students and teachers have participated in this educational field trip!

Carol is currently still an avid volunteer for the Fair Education Program today. Along with this, Bill and Carol Chandler are also donors to our Champions Club and Friends of The Big Fresno Fair, the Fair’s non-profit 501 (c)(3) Foundation, which supports the Fair’s vast educational programs, the two award winning museums on our Fairgrounds and the continued improvement of the Fairgrounds for future generations to enjoy.

Thank you Bill and Carol for your wonderful contributions to our Fair and congratulations for being recognized by the California State Fair as Agriculturists of the Year!

For the entire month of May we’ve participated in WFA’s “Fairgrounds Appreciation Month!” We have shared stories of the pivotal role Fairgrounds play in each of their communities – beyond the role they play during their annual fair! Fairgrounds serve in times of emergencies, help give back to communities in times of need, are there for celebrations and a place to create memories, provide educational opportunities and most of all, a place to have fun and experience joy!

For this and so much more we are grateful for fairs and fairgrounds throughout the state, nation and world and we hope you are too! We can’t wait to celebrate with you all again to enjoy fair food, scream at the top of rollercoasters, dance to music and create memories for many years to come! We remain hopefully to see you all this October at the 2020 Big Fresno Fair!
