It’s National Carousel Day or also known as Merry-Go-Round Day! Did you know that first known carousel ride in the U.S. operated in 1799 in Salem, Massachusetts. Some early carousel horses were made with mane and/or tail made of real horsehair.

We are saddened to hear about the passing of the great Tony Bennett. We are so lucky to have had him grace our Paul Paul Theater Stage in 1990 and more recently in 2014 at The Big Fresno Fair. Tony Bennett was known for his beautiful renditions of classics such as “The Way You Look Tonight” and his signature song, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”
Tony Bennett passed away after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 96 years old.

The weather is heating up but we have the coolest museums in town! Head to the Fresno County Historical Museum AND The Big Fresno Fair Museum this Saturday, July 15 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to enjoy these award-winning Museums with incredible exhibits and countless historic artifacts and stories on Fresno County’s diverse history and the rich history of The Big Fresno Fair! Admission and parking are free. Parking is available in the Chance Ave. parking lot. Audio tours will guide visitors through the Museum, as well as Museum docents.
