Friday, September 27 was a day of celebration as the Fair unveiled an artistic metal sculpture dedicated to retiring Fresno Police Chief, Jerry Dyer. The idea and artistic creation was the brainchild of our CEO, John C. Alkire to honor Chief Dyer for his four decade long career with the Fresno Police Department and recognize the Chief for his work protecting our community and his role in creating a safer, more family-friendly Big Fresno Fair. At the event, guest speakers gave tributes, shared stories and some laughs about Chief Dyer in celebration of his impending retirement.
This “Transformers” inspired work of art is made up completely of recycled pieces such as pipes, tools and more. Want to see the sculpture for yourself? Head over to Iron Mountain located in the Pavilion Area along with many other “trash to treasure” sculptures like a large owl, a three-headed dragon and so much more!
Thank you Chief Dyer for your years of service, thank you to everyone who attended to honor him and a thank you to the Fresno Police Department for your continued work to keep our city and our Fair safe.

Once you’re at the location, find our Big Fresno Fair table, take & post a selfie with the cutout of which concert you want tickets to, post to social media (FB, IG or Twitter) and then tag us, The Big Fresno Fair!
Once you show our Fair representative that you posted it, you’ll get your FREE pair of tickets. Remember, these tickets are available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS. So when they’re gone, they’re gone!
